Intermediate Custom GPT with “Instructions” & “Knowledge”

Step 1 Access GPTs

• To create your own GPT, you need to be a subscriber of ChatGPT Plus or ChatGPT Enterprise.

Step 2 Navigating to the GPTs Section - LINK to GPT Page

• To create your own GPT, click black "Create" on the "GPT’s" page on the top right.

Step 3: Define the Function of Your GPT

1. Decide on the Functionality: For this example, you want the GPT to read emails or text messages and convert them into Google Calendar events.
2. Name Your GPT: Give your GPT a name, such as “Text to Event.”
3. Provide a Short Description: Write a brief description of what your GPT does.
4. Set a Profile Picture: Optionally, add a profile picture for your GPT.

Step 4: Creating Your GPT

• Initial Setup:

  • Start by filling in the details on the Configure tab on the left-hand side of the page.

  Quickly paste in text and get events pulled into Google Calendar.
  

  Instructions

  Anytime texts, emails or direct messages are pasted in, I need you to do a couple of things.
  
  Step 1) First give me a general summary of the message.
  
  Step 2) Next, decipher whether there is an event or task involved within the message.
  
  Step 3) If there is not, then just say "Clear."
  
  Step 4) If there is, layout the event in the following format:
  
  Event Title: (Generate that Here)
  Event Date: (List that here)
  Event Time: (List that here
  Event Details: (List that here)
  
  Step 5) Run the following action:

Step 5: Set Up Automation with Zapier

1. Create a New Action:

   • Go to the “Create New Action” section located in the bottom left corner of the ChatGPT interface.
   • Select “Import from URL” and ignore the manual input fields.
   • Use Zapier for automation by importing a schema URL from the provided Zapier document.

2. Copy and Paste the Zapier URL from Zapier’s Page

   • Locate the URL in the Zapier document under “Get Started Step 1.”

   • Copy this URL to your clipboard.

   • Head back to ChatGPT, select “Import from URL,” paste the URL, and click “Import.”

   • This will automatically import all necessary schema and actions.

3. Set Up Your Action:

   • Go to the Zapier setup page (you may need to sign in or create a free account).
   • Click on “Add a New Action.”
   • Type in “Google Calendar” to find relevant actions.
   • Select an action such as “Quick Add Event” to quickly add events to your Google Calendar.
   • Select your Google Calendar account.
   • Under the “Calendar” field, set a specific value. (The calendar you want to attach to GPT.)
   • For the “Describe Event” field, it’s recommended to let AI guess the value.
   • Require preview before running AI Action
   • Enable Action - Blue Button

Step 5: Finalize the GPT Action

1. Define the Action Name:
   • Click “Show All Options.”
   • In the “Action Name” field, clearly and simply describe the action, e.g., “Create Event from Text with GPT.”
   • Enable the action by selecting “Enable Action.”

Step 6: Update GPT Instructions
